Interview conducted by Alan Cherry as part of the LDS Afro-American Oral History Project by the Charles Redd Center for Western Studies at Brigham Young University on 3 March 1988. Spencer talks about her early life in Cotton Plant, Arkansas and her return to Chicago. She describes herhusband's conversion to the Mormon Church and his inactivity at the time of this interview. She discusses her experiences as a Mormon.
